bringing ideas & talent together

a camera wishlist

I am just beginning my list so I can make an informed decision when the time comes.. We love visiting parks and capturing beauty and while I love my point and shoot ... I want to capture the colour intensity and birds in the distance... deciding how serious I should get.. hmm.. an expensive hobby.. could take a trip for the cost.. maybe just binoculars.. ;)

From a nature photographer...

  • Canon 40D
  • Canon 24-70mm 2.8L USM lens
  • Canon 100mm 2.8 macro USM lens
  • Canon 70-300mm 4-5.6 IS USM lens
  • Canon 50mm 1.8 lens
  • Tokina 10-17mm 3.5-4.5 fish-eye lens
  • Canon Speedlite 430EX external flash

from birders...

  • Body: Canon 20D / 40D / 50D
  • Lens: Canon EF300mm f/2.8 IS USM / EF400mm / EF600mm f4 L I.S. USM
  • Lens: Leitz Telyt 400mm long focus lens

  • A copy of John Shaw's book "The Nature Photographer's Complete Guide to Professional Field Techniques". This is #1 on the list for a reason!
  • A high quality, two element, close-up diopter to fit the telephoto zoom for macro work
  • A remote release for the camera
  • A polarizing filter (a circular polarizer for all AF and some MF cameras)

  • A bag to carry it all in
