Taking a class at Stanford..

In reflecting on the massive protests I have had the opportunity to join in, each had multiple groups/organizations participating, with multiple agenda's/goals.  The commonality amongst the groups/individuals I was exposed to was a rights based, non-violent consensus decision making process.  There were non-appointed leaders who were strong individuals inspiring groups to work together, this responsibility would often shift as hours went by.  

 

I believe open organizations were formed, as there was knowledge retention and organizational learning, case studies and multilevel stakeholders involvement. As  stated in previous posts the majority of massive protests are organized - often for months leading up to the event.

 

When teaching this rights based, non-violent consensus decision making approach it is often compared to the academic Sociotechnical Systems.
